Guru Tegh Bahadur 2019

Guru Tehaga (April 1, 1621 - November 24, 1675) was the ninth Guru of the Sikhs who followed the path laid down by the first Guru Nanak. The 115 verses composed by him are included in Guru Granth Sahib. He strongly opposed Kashmiri Pandits and other Hindus to become Muslims. Because of not accepting Islam, in 1675, the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb asked him to accept Islam, but Guru Sahib said that Sis can be cut not cash. Then he beheaded Guruji in front of everyone. Gurdwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib and Gurdwara Rez Ganj Sahib commemorate the places where Guruji was killed and where his last rites were performed. Guru Tega Saheb has a place in world history for those who sacrificed their lives to protect religion and human values, ideals and principles.

According to this Mahavakya, Guruji's sacrifice was not only for the practice of religion, but for the entire human cultural heritage. Religion was the name of cultural values and law of life for him. Therefore, his sacrifice for the true eternal values of religion was in fact an ultimate adventure in favor of cultural heritage and desired life legislation.

The sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadurji against the policies of the terrorist ruler against the anti-religious and ideological freedom was an unprecedented historical event. This was the highest example of Guruji's fearless conduct, religious integrity and moral generosity. Guruji was a revolutionary era man who gave his great martyrdom for human religion and ideological freedom.

On 11 November 1675 AD, Kazi read the fatwa at Chandni Chowk, Delhi, and the executioner Jalaldin swung the head of Guru Sahib away from the torso. But Guru Tegh Bahadur did not say 'c' with his mouth. Guru Gobind Singh ji has written about his unique sacrifice in the play 'Bichitra'

Tilak Jannu Rakha Prabha Taka Kino Bado Kalu Mahi Saka॥
Iti jini kari for means Sisu dia paru si na uchri॥
Saka Gini Kia for Dharam Sisu dia dia parru sirru na dia॥
